Wedding Day Must Dos for Brides & Grooms

Los Angeles Weddings 2025–2026

Planning your wedding in Los Angeles? First of all—congratulations! Whether you're getting married on a Malibu cliffside, under the palms of Pasadena, or on a sleek DTLA rooftop, this guide is for YOU.

As a wedding photographer, I’ve had the honor of capturing many "I do" moments—and I’ve learned what can turn a dream day into a stress-free, picture-perfect celebration.

Let’s talk about the top wedding day must-haves and do’s to help you feel confident, calm, and fully present on your big day.

🎒 Wedding Day Must-Haves

1. The Emergency Kit

Pack a small bag with the basics & have a trusted point person carry it:

  • Safety pins + fashion tape

  • Blotting papers

  • Necessary touchup makeup (like hair spray, lipstick/glosses)

  • Tide to Go

  • Meds/Bandaids

  • Mini sewing kit

  • Small Snacks + Water

💡 Planning an outdoor wedding in Los Angeles? Add sunscreen and bug spray.

2. Your Vows (and a backup!)

Whether you're reading from your phone or a custom vow book, bring a backup copy. Technology and emotions don’t always mix. If you desire, make your aesthetic even nicer by holding in a pretty booklet rather than printer paper.

3. Printed Timeline

Have 3–6 hard copies of your timeline. One for you, one for your MOH, your coordinator if you have one, and maybe one in each dressing room. You’ll thank yourself later.

💍 Do’s for the Bride & Groom

Do a First Look

More time together, more flexibility with your photo timeline, and a calmer start to the day. Golden hour in LA? YES, please.

Do Schedule Alone Time

After your ceremony, sneak away for 10–15 minutes together. Just the two of you. Soak it in.

Do Trust Your Photographer

We know the best angles, best light, and we’ve captured all kinds of wild wedding moments. Let us do our thing—we’ve got you.

Do Be Present

Laugh, cry, dance, hug everyone twice. Be selfish about what you want to do. It’s YOUR day. The photos will be beautiful, but the moments will mean even more.

Bonus Wedding Photo Tips

  • Golden hour = stunning. Sneak out for sunset shots if you can make it work in your timeline.

  • Go unplugged! You want guest faces, not phone screens, in your ceremony pics.

  • Details matter. Bring rings, invitation suite, vow books, perfumes, heirlooms, or anything meaningful to be photographed during prep.
