Linda + Joven

Ah, December weddings. Everyone starts getting into the holiday festivities, and December quickly seems to become the busiest time of the year.

So why plan a December wedding? Well, aside from any significant dates in December for you or your partner, there are plenty of good reasons!

First - the weather! Here in SoCal, it’s hard to guarantee you won’t get a scorching day if you plan in the summer, or even spring. The fall and winter are often much more enjoyable- especially if planning an outdoor event.

Second - The season! While December is often the busiest month, it also tends to bring family and friends together. So why not make the most of this time by celebrating such an important event while together?

December 2nd, I was honored to photograph Linda and Joven’s December wedding.
It was a beautiful backyard ceremony, filled with smiles and fun. They had yet another reason to plan their wedding for December though. The wedding was planned in order to have a family member there, who was ill and they desired to be part of their day.
Unfortunately, by the day of the wedding, the groom’s father had already passed. While this is an extremely difficult thing to manage on such a celebratory day, the families honored him there, and continued to smile through it all. The groom’s mother Cora walked him down the aisle in a photo frame, and he had a seat right next to her in the front row. It was such a sweet sentiment, and I think all greatly appreciated it.

This wedding was absolutely beautiful, and I’m sure Joven’s dad would have loved it. Closest family and friends were all able to have photos taken, and simply enjoy the time they have together in celebration.
I had so much fun joining in on their day, and capturing moments that seemed extra special.
Thank you for entrusting me to photograph your day. All the best in your newly starting season together.
